GPL debutante Tamale City FC appoints new head coach ahead of 2022/23 campaign

Ghana Premier League, GPL new entrants Tamale City FC has appointed a new head coach for their maiden campaign in the Ghanaian top-flight league.

Mohammed Wahid has been appointed to that position, and he would be expected to help the Citizens retain their Elite Division status after the next campaign.

The former Liberty Professionals captain takes over from Hamza Mohammed who guided Tamale City to the top-flight league last season.

Hamza Mohammed will act as an assistant coach at the club in the upcoming campaign alongside Mohammed Bashiru who will also take charge as the goalkeeper's coach.

Coach Wahid started his coaching duties at FC Khalladho in the Maldives as a player/coach after leaving Liberty Professionals and, won the President's Cup in his first season.

He returned to Ghana to work with the youth team of Liberty Professionals and, was an assistant coach at Legon Cities last season in the GPL competition.

Tamale City FC will open their account in the 2022/23 GPL campaign with an away trip to Anyinase to face the might of Karela United at the Crossby Awuah Memorial, (CAM) Park on Sunday, September 11, 2022.
