Black Stars defender, Alexander Djiku has suffered a muscle injury in his club’s last match against Toulouse.
The defender who has been a key figure for the French side and is one of the few names that is expected to be in the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup. According to Coach Julien Stephan, the player’s injury could be something minor and he could recover in a few days or weeks time. The coach said “Alex has a little muscle problem. It pulled a little on the ischio, I hope it's not too serious.”
Djiku’s form for the Black Stars has been impressive. The Black Stars defender was part of the team that helped secure a world cup slot after a keenly contested game with Nigeria. It is expected that Djiku will partner Amartey and Mohammed Salisu at the heart of defense for the Black Stars at the world cup.
