Black Stars play Portugal this afternoon as they open their FIFA World Cup account

Ghana will play Portugal this afternoon as the Black Stars open their campaign in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qater.

This Group H encounter will be played at Stadium 974 Rass Abou Aboud, with kick-off time set for 16:00 GMT in the Asian country.

The Black Stars are in high spirits going into this game after their impressive 2-0 victory over Switzerland in their last friendly before the tournament.

Coach Otto Addo said he had a selection headache ahead of the game with competition for a starting lineup being keenly contested among the 26-players selected to represent the nation.

Nonetheless, the former Ghana international is expected to name a strong lineup to face the Portuguese this afternoon as the Black Stars look to start their campaign with a win.

That is what is doing the talking in the camp of Team Ghana, with a very positive karma blowing among the contingent in Qater.

Many Ghanaians will be expecting them to rise to the challenge against a Portugal side that is the bookmakers favourites to win the encounter.

This World Cup has so far produced some stunning results in favour of the underdog, and, another cannot be ruled out with the Black Stars looking poised for the action.

In the same group, South Korea and Uruguay will square off to complete the action before all four teams go again next week.
