One of the best performing clubs in the Ghana Premier League this season, Accra Lions missed their chance to top the Ghana Premier League table yesterday after playing a 1-1 draw with new entrants Samartex.
The match that was played at the WAFA Stadium in Sogakope saw the two teams battle for chances in a game that was tightly contested. Although Accra Lions were favourites to win the match heading into the game, Samartex were quite the strongest side in the game.
The visitors took the lead in the early minutes of the game but the score was equalized a few minutes before the referee blew his whistle for the end of the first half.
Accra Lions have now failed to win any of their last three matches and this signals that the club could be busy when the transfer window opens in January.
The Accra based club will travel to face Medeama on the first of January and will be hoping to get the much needed victory.
