Hearts Of Oak-AshantiGold Clash: Same Trophy But Different Ambitions For FA Cup Finalist

Accra Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold will contest the final of this year’s FA Cup. Accra Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold booked the final ticket after seeing off Medeama and Berekum Chelsea respectively. 

The two teams have their separate ambitions to battle for on the day. Technical handlers of both teams have acknowledged what is at stake, hence they are required to work assiduously towards that. 

After winning the Ghana Premier League for the first time in over a decade, coach Samuel Boadu and his charges look ahead to winning the FA Cup to record double feat this season. Their victory over Medeama secured them a final slot for the first time in many years, even though they remain the most successful team in the annals of FA Cup in Ghana. At this juncture, the club’s top hierarchy to the last person will ensure they achieve what is at stake on the day. AshantiGold on the other hand are keeping it steady to beat Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, lift the trophy and seal a qualification to the CAF Confederation Cup. After eliminating Berekum Chelsea in semis to make a headway, players have been informed about the decision to represent Ghana in CAF inter club competition. On the backdrop of this reminder, they will go all out to surprise their opponents on Sunday. They hope to replicate what they did to Accra Hearts of Oak in the just ended league season. They took four out of six points from coach Samuel Boadu’s side. Playing at the Accra Sports Stadium is not posing any threat to the miners. They see themselves as the only side that can easily dispatch the Phobians in this present circumstance.
