We Sacked Ignatius Osei Fosu Because of Poor Performance - Parker

Young Ghanaian coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu has had probably the shortest moment at the helm of a football club after he was axed by Ghana Premier League side, Medeama SC.

The outspoken trainer had been appointed to lead the Mauve and Yellow to glory after the exit of ex-Ghana internationals, Yaw Preko as head coach and Yaw Acheampong his assistant. Osei was however let go by the two time Ghana FA Cup holders with three matches into the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season. Reasons for his sack was not really made known from the onset regarding his sack but the club’s president and owner, Moses Armah Parker has revealed why they booted out Osei Fosu.

“Medeama sacked Ignatius Osei Fosu because we were not happy with his performance and as at now Medeama has paid all the money due him. “And those leaving the club is a blessing in disguise. “Medeama is moving into a new direction.” Moses Armah told Light fm.

Under the guidance of Ignatius Osei Fosu, Medeama picked just two points from three opening games. A 4-0 humiliation in the hands of Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in week one, began Medeama’s season troubles. They were then held to a 1-1 draw at home to Premier League new boys, Gold Stars in the second week before stealing a point from the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman against Eleven Wonders in week three.

The performance did not sit well with the club’s big shots which led to his eventual sack. Ignatius Osei Fosu has previously handled relegated Liberty Professionals, Techiman Eleven Wonders which he guided to survive relegation last season before joining Medeama.
