Welcome to Nazeef69 Sports arena.
Today we are looking at the situation of Baba Rahaman at Chelsea.
After a £25m move from Augsburg to Chelsea, Baba Rahaman has only enjoyed one full season at Stamford Bridge during the tenure of manager Jose Mourinho.
The young left back lost his position when he was hit by injury during the 2017 AFCON with Ghana.
Now that both Kenedy and Emerson Palmieri has left Chelsea on a season long, is it now time for the Ghanaian left back to compete with Ben Chillwell and Marcos Alonso?
Chelsea had three (3) left backs last season in the season including Emerson who has just left for loan.
If manager Thomas Tuchel still wants three left backs then Baba Rahaman will actually be the choice. Chelsea will compete in five competitions this season (EPL, UCL, F.A Cup, Club World Cup and the Carabao Cup) so will definitely need his services to play some of the matches especially the Carabao Cup.
However, Abdul Rahaman will leave the Chelsea squad early January to join his teammates for the 2021 AFCON, to be held in January 2022 in Cameroon.
Marcos Alonso started the season with a blissful free-kick which has cooled down the rumors of him leaving the club. His goal made him the highest top scorer for Chelsea among the current squad.
