Bumper Harvest: Accra Hearts Of Oak Receive 330,000 Cedis For Dominating Ghana Football

Accra Hearts of Oak have been rewarded for their ferocious form last season. The Ghana Premier League and FA Cup winners have received an amount of Three Hundred and Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (330, 000) from the Ghana Football Association. Payment has been made to Accra Hearts of Oak as confirmed by the Ghana Football Association today

For winning 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, the Ghana Football Association paid Accra Hearts of Oak Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (250,000), whiles the same club received Eighty Thousand Ghana Cedis (80,000) for annexing 2020/21 FA Cup. The two cash prize sum up to Three Hundred and Thirty Thousand Ghana Cedis (330,000). 

This amount will go a long way to cushion the financial situation of the club as they represent Ghana in CAF Champions League. They are billed to host Moroccan club WAC on the 17th of this month and travel for the return leg in a week’s time. Accra Hearts of Oak, last season won everything that matters in Ghana Football. 

Coach Samuel Boadu - after joining Accra Hearts of Oak from Medeama - changed the outlook of the team to lead them to league title. The second part turnaround was vital in the team’s campaign. Accra Hearts of Oak picked wins from some venues which catapulted them to the summit of the table. The competition was later narrowed down between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, but the former defeated the latter in a decisive encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium. 

To make it double for the season, Accra Hearts of Oak tilted attention to FA Cup. They meandered their way to the finals with AshantiGold. Their semifinal victory over Medeama gave Accra Hearts of Oak an upper hand ahead of the final in Accra. 

The FA Cup winner had to be decided via penalty kicks after an end-to-end encounter between the Rainbow club and the Miners. Accra Hearts of Oak eventually had their way out after winning the penalty kicks. This sealed a double winning season for coach Samuel Boadu and his lads. 

Following the team’s remarkable feat, the players and technical members were promised of mouthwatering package by club’s Board Chairman and majority shareholder Togbe Afede XIV. 

Supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak also launched an appeal for funds to honor the players, coach and his henchmen. The supporters front later confirmed to have raked in One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (100,000) through the appeal for fund initiative. Payment was later made to the team.
