We Shall Treat WAC as an Ordinary team - Hearts of Oak Midfielder

Accra Hearts of Oak’s rising midfielder, Salim Adams says the club has the ability to handle the clash against Wydad Athletic Club as an ordinary match. The Phobians will host the Morocco giants in the second 2021/22 CAF Champions League preliminary game at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 17 for the first leg.

The 2000 CAF Champions League winners qualified for the second stage after eliminating Guinea side, Club Industriel de Kamsar by a 2-0 score line at the Accra Sports Stadium in a one legged qualifier due to the unrest in the Guinea. Salim Adams, who scored Hearts of Oak’s second goal against Kamsar, believes they have the confidence ahead of the tie.

“We have confidence we can play like it’s a normal game. It’s important of course but in the end, our target is just one target: we need to win the game convincingly and go to Morocco with a good result.” Adams told Phobianews.com. "I’m enjoying life at Hearts, but the players make it easier and the coach also makes it easier for me,” Adams said. “But as I said, results are the most important thing. I’m doing good and I feel good with the team and I’m trying to help the team always to get points. “I try in every game to score, to do something different, but I’m happy about our performances and about what we have right now.” Adams added.

Salim Adams joined Hearts of Oak from Division One League club, New Edubiase United and made his competitive debut in Hearts of Oak’s elimination of CI Kamsar. He rose from the bench to score the second goal from a long range after burly striker, Kofi Kodzi had driven in the opener from a well taken free kick. The second leg of the clash against Wydad Athletic Club will be on October 24 at the Mohammed V Stadium in Rabat.
