He's From Chorkor And Used To Sell Coconut On The Street - Residents Jubilate For Edmund Addo

Edmund Addo got incredible exposure tonight during their game with Real Madrid. Happy for him. From Chorkor and Mamprobi to the world.

The people of Korle Gonno in Accra Ghana hit the streets to celebrate FC Sheriff Tiraspol's victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League tonight.

Hordes of people gathered behind giants screens in the Korle Gonno community to watch this particular game.

What a lot of people who have perceived Ghanaians wrongly for a long time will ask is, but why should people in Accra celebrate a victory by a club from Tiraspol?

The celebration is not necessarily because of the Moldovan side per we, but for their Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Addo, who featured for 90 minutes vs Madrid.

The 21-year-old who hails from the community, reports say, has struggled on the streets, including selling coconut, before getting a breakthrough to travel to Europe?

I wonder when they say Ghanaians don't support their own.

Meanwhile, at the end of the game, real Madrid lost to 2-1 putting them at the second position on the champions League group table.
