There was an All-Stars game played at the Accra Sports Stadium yesternight. If you look at the goal Dede Ayew scored it was a very marvelous one. He received the ball outside the box through a pass from Wakaso and had about six players around him. He dribbled into the box and dribbled the remaining and shot the ball into the net, the keeper did not stand a chance.
If Dede Ayew is going to perform like this in the World Cup Ghana is going to do wonders. When I say that it doesn't mean because I support the Black Stars I have to be emotional and always say good things about the team You see, Ghana Black Stars have been to the World Cup three times and if you look at Ghana's records it is a very good one.
In 2006 when Ghana first qualified the nations in the group did not regard Ghana but we ended up qualifying for the Round of 16 where we met Brazil who eliminated us. We beat the Czech Republic which was in the first 10 FIFA Men's ranking at the time and even though Italy beat us it wasn't easy for them.
In 2010 Ghana was the only African Nation left in the competition and the whole of Africa was rooting for Ghana to make it into the semis but Luiz Suarez.
2014 was when Ghana had its worst performance and exited in the group stages. But even during that campaign we almost won Portugal if not for John Boye's own goal which you could say destroyed morales. We were the only team to draw against Germany in that World Cup when there were at the peak of their football game. I am not just adding numbers but you should know that Ghana mostly performs well when it is needed. In articles, I have been saying that we will be getting Inaki Williams, Eddie Nketiah, and Tariq Lamptey which will help strengthen the team and I tell you that Qatar is not ready for Ghana. Ghana also getting our players in there, I mean those we know already like Jojo Wollacott, Richard Ofori, Djiku, Amartey, Partey, and the most in-form player in Black Stars right now Kudus Mohammed.
As Ghanaians we try to belittle the team and even though we have not had the best performance this year having won only 2 matches out of the 9 matches we have played. And I trust that there is no way Ghana is going to flop.
We know of the quality our opponents have. When we talk about Portugal we know they have Cristiano Ronaldo, Benardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Cavaho. Moving to Uruguay we know they have, Luiz Suarez, Cavani, Nunez, Velvarde and Araujo. This doesnt mean Ghana is going to fail. Ghana is going to get a good squad and I believe that the only problem is the tactics. When CK Akonnor was in charge the team did not perform so well due to his tactical approach as Black Stars Struggled to beat Sao Tome, Soiuth Africa, and Ethiopia.
