One of the memorable events in the history of world football happened in 2012 when Tottenham Hotspurs and Bolton Wanderers was playing an FA cup quarter finals at the White Hart Lane. One of Bolton Wanderers central Midfielder, Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the 41st minute. Muamba fell on the pitch and stopped breathing.
The medical officers of both team rushed to the field to save his life. With the help of a cardiac consultant who was in the stadium to watch the match, they gave him first aid on the pitch before he was sent to the hospital. His heart stopped for 78 minutes before it started to work again.
Fabrice Muamba retired from football later that year at the age of 23 due to his condition. Muamba was born in Kinshasha DR Congo. He moved to England at a tender age with his parents.
Muamba became a co-commentator after retirement for ITV and BT sports. Muamba is now a youth coach at Rochdale.
