Asante Kotoko lining up ex-Burkina Faso national team coach to replace Prosper Nartey Ogum

Ghana Premier League, GPL champions Asante Kotoko are lining up former Burkina Faso national team coach Kamou Malo to replace the embattled Prosper Nartey Ogum according to reports in the local media.

Kumasi-based radio station Pure FM first brokered the news on Tuesday and, this has also been highlighted in various portals nationwide.

Coach Ogum who guided Asante Kotoko to the GPL title last season, is at loggerheads with the management of the club and, it was reported last week that the gaffer was ready to resign his position.

The tension between the two is at boiling point with the coach having told some board members that he cannot work with the club's management after they failed to honour some promises made him.

The Asante Kotoko management according to the reports, are willing to hire Coach Malo at a huge cost to replace Coach Ogum ahead of the start of next season.

With the club set to embark on a pre-season tour of Turkey next month, they will need to have a sound-minded technical team in place before they head to Europe and return for the start of the new campaign.

Coach Malo guided Burkina Faso to fourth place at the last AFCON tournament in Cameroon early this year, and, he could be the jigsaw the Porcupines need to prosecute their agenda next season.

Going forward, it will be interesting to see how the record Ghana champions resolve their technical issue with the new season set to start in September.
