Explaining what caused the delay on Fox Sports, David Obeng Nyarko indicated that, the day for the press conference coincided with the period in which the club was busily participating in CAF inter club competition. This, could not allow the management to hold the hundred day press conference that was previously announced.
The hundred day press conference, according to him, is still in the pipeline and will take place to elucidate some of the things put in place by the Nana Yaw Amponsah led administration. All relevant issues will be addressed on that day by management.
David Obeng Nyarko however did not give a new date or timeline for the much-awaited hundred day press conference.
Speaking on the attitude of the Chief Executive Officer, he stated that Nana Yaw Amponsah is a humble person capable of leading the club.
On sponsorship, the Acting Communications Director revealed that mega sponsors are on the way and official announcement will be made once a deal is reached. He touched on partnership between Asante Kotoko and other entities, and what they bring on board to the club. All those entities on a deal with the club are happy. He refuted assertions that without 100,000 Ghana cedis, a company cannot partner or sponsor the club.
On the issue of players contract, David Obeng Nyarko expressed disappointment in some of the players revealing details of their contract in the public domain.
On the coach, he said “Mariano Barreto has been super so far and they will give him the necessary support.”
He stated that the club does not have any issue with former coach Maxwell Konadu, who left Asante Kotoko in the early part of this season.
On player update, he stated, “on every single day, we check the weight of players. This helps in this lifestyle.”
