Barcelona coach Xavi pushed about Lewandowski deal: I respect him a lot

Barcelona manager Xavi has avoided questions today about Robert Lewandowski.

The Bayern Munich striker is said to have committed to joining Barca this mid-year.

However, at his Europa League presser, Xavi said: "I get the inquiry, yet this moment isn't the opportunity to discuss Lewandowski, whom I regard a ton and who appears to me to be a decent player.

"This is the ideal opportunity to zero in on the upcoming game."

Bayern boss Oliver Kahn, in the interim, is resolved they will not lose the Pole toward the finish of the time.

"As a matter of first importance, we really must have an agreement with Robert Lewandowski that endures another season. We generally said that we would begin the discussions and we began them quite some time ago," he said.

"I recently said that we most certainly have one more season for Robert Lewandowski. We're not insane and we're not examining an tranafer for a 30 player to 40 goals with us each season. I don't believe that can be the situation.

"Obviously there is a contest out there: who will draw out the greater rubbish tale about Robert Lewandowski?"
