Ghana Premier League Put On Hold

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended the ongoing betPawa Premier League.

This follows the Association’s receipt of a notice of motion for injunction filed at the Human Rights Court by Ashantigold Sporting Club.

The Club served the Association on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

“Following the receipt of the motion, the Association has decided to put the League on hold until the determination of a Motion on Notice for Injunction by the court on October 14, 2022”, a statement from the Association said.

The GFA on that note urged all stakeholders to remain calm as it endeavours to seek redress for the prompt resumption to forestall further interruption of the football calendar.

The Premier League would have stepped into Matchday four this weekend.

This action by Ashantigold is in relation with its demotion to Division Two over a match-fixing allegation to which it was found Guilty by the GFA.

The allegation came after the club’s 7-0 win against Inter Allies two seasons ago.
