Former Ghana international resigns as coach of GPL side Eleven Wonders with immediate effect

Former Ghana international Yaw Acheampong has tendered in his resignation as Coach of top-flight side Techiman Eleven Wonders with half of the season still to come.

Wonders are in the bottom three in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, (GPL) as we head towards the midway point of the campaign this weekend.

Wonders will be away to Aduana FC at the weekend in their last game in the first round of the competition but will be without their helmsman.

Coach Acheampong will not be in the dugout at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park, Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday after he resigned his post on Tuesday.

He said this has been a personal decision and that he wished the club very well in their future endeavours.

His last game in charge was against WAFA last Sunday which they drew goalless at Techiman to leave them in the bottom three.

Wonders are battling relegation and will need to up their game if they hope to retain their premiership status at the end of the season.

The management of the club do have some thinking to do ahead of the start of the second round of the campaign which promises to be a tough one.

Other GPL Matchday 17 matches to be played this weekend will see leaders Asante Kotoko at home to Accra Lions in Kumasi; Berekum Chelsea will host Bechem United at Bechem with Hearts of Oak trekking to Tamale to take on RTU.

AshantiGold SC will welcome Bibiani Gold Stars to Obuasi; Great Olympics will be home to Elmina Sharks in Accra with Medeama SC hosting Dreams FC at Tarkwa.

Karela United will travel to Sogakope to face WAFA with Legon Cities at home to King Faisal Babes in Accra.
