Tema Metro FA holds successful congress ahead of the next football season

It was a colourful ceremony today at the Tema Sports Stadium as the ordinary congress of the Tema Metropolitan Football Association, (TMFA) came off.

The ceremony ended successfully with congressmen approving the budget and accounts for last season.

All promotions and demotions during last season's campaign were also authenticated to usher in the start of next season.

The 2021-22 campaign in the TMFA is expected to start on the weekend of February 19 and 20 in both the Juvenile and Third Division Leagues.

The upcoming season will adopt the five substitution rule for the campaign with each team expected to present not more than 20 players for a game.

Chairman of the TMFA, Pastor Daasebre Adu-Asare warned clubs to pay their affiliation fees within 14 days after the congress is over or risk expulsion from the league.

Pastor Adu-Asare appealed to organizations, philanthropists and other stake holders in football to come in and support the TMFA in its efforts towards raising up standards in the sport in the metropolis.

He expected the upcoming season to be keenly contested on all fronts and wished all teams the very best of luck ahead of the campaign.

Ahead of the new season, the TMFA plans to organize the annual Tema Youth Cup competition for juvenile teams and a special gala for Third Division clubs.

The ordinary congress of the TMFA came off successfully with the support of Red Ice natural mineral water, After 5 ginger spiced liquor and Tema Youth Football Club.
