We want to hoist the Ghana flag high in Africa - Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Nartey Ogum

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Nartey Ogum wants to do well with the club in their African campaign next season and, is planning towards that according to the tactician.

Coach Ogum led the Porcupines to the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, GPL title and, the club will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season.

And, the gaffer wants to do well in the upcoming competition which has been announced to commence in September this year with the preliminary round encounters.

Coach Ogum told the club's media that, there is a plan in place towards ensuring that Asante Kotoko will be well represented in the CAF Champions League next season.

"After watching last season's final game between WAC of Morocco and Al Ahly of Egypt, we need to up our game if we want to do well in the coming campaign", Coach Ogum said.

He added: "We want to hoist the Ghana flag very high in Africa next season but, we must be ready for a tough campaign as the competition will demand a lot".

Coach Ogum however said, Asante Kotoko will beef up the squad with quality materials in key areas ahead of the start of the competition to get them ready for the campaign.

The Porcupines has until August 15, 2022 to register their players for the campaign with the Confederation of African Football. (CAF) before they venture into the competition in September.

Doing well in the upcoming contest is a huge task that confronts the record Ghana champions as they will have to overcome some quality and experienced opposition to get that far.

The club is targeting a place in the group stage of the competition at least, but, they will have to dig deep into their arsenal if they are to achieve that ambition.
