No team in the world is, currently, in a more joyous mood than the Ghanaian-based soccer giant Asante Kotoko. For years, the issue of sponsorships in the local league had been disgusting. Many felt the inability of the top clubs in Ghana, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, to attract corporate bodies showed how deteriorated our league was.
While the GFA still hasn't secured a headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko just can't stop announcing lucrative deals. Just last season alone, we saw tremendous deals secured by the current NYA-led management. This season, the wind has begun blowing.
The Porcupines have confirmed their partnership with BETIKA, a growing betting firm in Africa. Both parties are set to mutually benefit. For Kotoko, they have to offer BETIKA the mileage and patronage. The club has a huge support base, of which the youth is very vibrant. That alone gives the audience every betting firm would die for.
This partnership or sponsorship will be worth GHS 1.3 million for two seasons. Kotoko will receive GHS 630,000 per year, balls, nets and other sports equipment. BETIKA, also, will help Kotoko in youth development through scouting for talents from other grassroot football activities. More light is shared on the deal in the image below.
