The current trend happening now is, some Ghanaian celebrities coming are out to throw their support for the legalization of the LGBT law to be passed in Ghana. Currently in Ghana we have some celebrities who have thrown in their support to the LGBT community in Ghana, the likes of Wanluv, Sister derby, Kobi Rana, Juliet Ibrahim and co. Latest in the news is Michael Essien, former Chelsea and real Madrid player who also played for the National soccer team of Ghana, Ghana black stars.
The Footballer has also thrown his support to the LGBT community in Ghana, he assured them he has seen what is going on, and he is with them. This statement from Michael Essien has made a lot of Ghanaians Bash him on social media, for declaring his support to support something Ghanaians are against.
Michael Essien has been on the lips of many after this declaration. One can not tell the rational and mindset behind his declaration even though Nana Addo has come out to declare that, there is no way he's going to legalize gay, some section of Ghanaians are worried as to the rate celebrities and influential figures are endorsing it. Upon several backlash from Ghanaians to the footballer, he has deleted the post he made about the LGBT.
