The first leg of the Championship for Africa Nations came up at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday in a virtually empty space.
The Black Galaxies of Ghana did not have a good start to the first of the game where the Nigerians cut most of their key players out of the game.
Key forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was marked out from the first half with captain of the side, Gladson Awako also taken out by the Nigerian defence.
Barnieh struck from the spot on the 49th minute with Suraj tapping in from close range with three minuets to end the game at the Cale Coast Stadium.
The Black Galaxies have a 2-0 advantage going into the second leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium this weekend.
A win will take the Black Galaxies of Ghana qualify for the next Championship for Africa Nations in 2023.
