Anthony Baffoe And Samuel Kuffour Should be Elected GFA Presidents - Ex-Ghana Star

Ex-Ghana youth international, Skelley Adu Tutu says he would wish to see ex-internationals manage the Ghana Football Association.

Some countries on the continent have seen ex-stars manage their federations with others still at the helm. Cameroon recently elected ex-Barcelona striker and UEFA Champions League winner, Samuel Eto’o as the FECAFOOT president. Zambia once had ex-forward, Kalusha Bwalya as its FA president with DR Congo recently naming retired stars, Shabani and Santos Muntubile Ndiela as advisors to the president of Congolese football association (Fecofa) and the senior national team. Skelley believes ex-Ghana stars, Anthony Baffoe and Samuel Kuffour have the wherewithal to handle the affairs of the Ghana FA.

“I will prefer one day, Anthony Baffoe to be the FA president and Samuel Osei Kuffour to be his assistant. “Because they have seen it all, they can also bring sponsors on board. “They have the link, the network so when they become the head, we might have good sponsors in the league and everything will change. “They have the link everywhere, Anthony Baffoe has worked with CAF and you see him everywhere and so what else, he is multilingual and has come into contact with a lot of people.” Adu Tutu Skelly told Adikanfo fm of Berekum.

Samuel Kuffour enjoyed a glittering club career spanning 12-years with German giants, Bayern Munich where he won six Bundeliga titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2001. He once served on Ghana club, Asante Kotoko’s board but that is not considered administrative experience enough to manage the FA.

Anthony Baffoe on the hand has spent most of his playing career in Germany where he was born with FC Koln, Stuttgart Kickers, Fortuna Koln and Fortuna Düsseldorf. He had a brief spell in France with Metz and OGC Nice. He was a Deputy General Secretary for football and development of the Confederation of African Football [CAF].
