Premier League

It was a well deserved win, and the boys demonstrated a high degree of discipline in the game

Accra Hearts of Oak have been crowned as the league winners in the Ghana Premier League. The league winners have demonstrated an incredible form through out the season. They are unbeaten in their last 14 matches in all competitions.

The league leaders drew parity with Dansoman based club Liberty Professionals by 1-1. The Phobians were dominant in the early stages of the game. They created some decent chances and ensured a lot of fluidity in their attack.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh got the opener for the phobians at the 45th minute of the game. He has been on a superb form for the rainbow boys this season. He together with his teammates have contributed immensely to the success of the club. The game ended 1-0 in favour of Hearts at the first half.

The “scientific soccer lads” came into the game at the second half. They pounded a lot of pressure on Hearts in search of the equalizer. Paul Kwame eventually got the equalizer for Liberty at the 87th minute for the game.

Hearts of Oak will be handed the trophy at Sogakope when they take on West African Football Academy in the final game to be played on Saturday July, 17.
