The pressure to appoint a coach has been dealt with by the board and this coach can not be compared to any of the current technical handlers at the moment. The experienced gaffer has it all at the moment to prove the supporters yell for the right person and needs to be recommended for that. Improvement comes from all the sectors including the drivers of the club. If they want to end the long term trophy that has elude the club for a long time. On Monday, March 1, 2021, the board of the Phobians at a short ceremony in Accra unveiled the young coach as the new head coach of the Phobians some time back of the days of speculations. According to Togbe Afede XIV, who is board chairman at Hearts of Oak, the club was not hasty in the appointment of the new coach after the departure of Serbian tactician Kosta Papic. Rather, they have had the coach in mind for a while and believe this is the right time to bring him on board.
Samuel Boadu was unveiled Monday as the club’s new coach after penning down a three and half year deal. Explaining what the club expects from the former Medeama SC head coach, Togbe Afede XIV said the club is a results-oriented one and always wants to win everything at stake. “At Accra Hearts of Oak, our ambition even though has been illusive in recent years, has always been to win everything that is available, we want to work with him to win whatever is available and we are of the believe that he is capable of working with us to achieve those objectives,” Togbe Afede XIV said.
Speaking after unveiling of the Coach, Togbe Afede was full of praise for the former Medeama SC coach describing him as a man of integrity.
“We see him as a man of integrity who is looking for an opportunity, one which Hearts is able to provide him. The board is very confident that we have gotten the right person,” Togbe Afede XIV told Hearts media. “Our desire for him did not arise after the departure of Papic, he has been our long term target, the good news is that Hearts has been his long term target as well,” he added. The young coach met the playing body on Wednesday and will start work on Thursday. Togbe Afede XIV, added that the club's board of directors had a vision to transform Hearts into one of the best clubs in Africa and that ambition could only be achieved by attracting some of the best technical brains to the club.
This is the right coach who has all the requisite skills and abilities to be in the dug out. He has the competency to continue as the head of the technical bench. The task ahead is very difficult and through hard work he can overcome it by looking at the standard that Nii Noi Samuel raised the club to before he stopped and needs to continue from there. “That he has decided to join us from Medeama, which is doing quite well in the league currently, is a great testament to his belief in the board and management of Accra Hearts of Oak. And that we went for him, young an brilliant coach, is an expression of our commitment to attract the best talents to the club," he emphasised.
