This year's Copa America is looking great for Argentina as the previous ones. In their bid to secure a place in the final, they took on Colombia in the semi final. As Brazil await the winner between the Argentina and Colombia for the final.
Lionel Messi the captain of Argentina has shown his quality again and lead his county to the finals of this year's Copa America.
The game was tough as Lionel Messi received alot of rough tackles from the Colombia players. Even with this his was at his best.
Because of his tenacity to reach the final, he played the game with a bleeding ankle.
He was all over the pitch dropping very deep to their defense to provide assist to the defenders.
Messi took on three defenders in box before producing a spectacular assist to L. Martinez in 6th minute of the game. Argentina had the early lead.
Messi was unlucky on one occasion when he received a through pass from Angel Di maria in the 81th minute but hit post.
The game ended 1-1 and was processed with penalties. Messi scored the first penalty for Argentina and their hero of the day Emiliano Martinez saved two penalties. The penalty shot out ended in favor of Argentina.
The final will be between Messi and Neymar. Messi has won 4 man of the match award in this year's Copa America while Neymar won three.
