Berekum Chelsea replaces Asante Kotoko in GHALCA Top-6 competition

Ghana Premier League, GPL side Berekum Chelsea has replaced champions Asante Kotoko for the upcoming GHALCA Top-6 competition.

The club has confirmed their readiness to participate in the pre-season competition organized by the welfare body of the clubs to put them in shape for the coming season.

Asante Kotoko, pulled out of the competition after announcing that it will conflict with their own pre-season program ahead of the start of the 2022/23 Ghana football season.

The GHALCA Top-6 competition will be held later this month with the new season scheduled to kick-off in September.

Asante Kotoko are due to travel to Turkey on Sunday for a continuation of their pre-season rituals hence, the decision to pull out of the pre-season tournament.

Also scheduled to participate in the GHALCA Top-6 competition are Medeama SC, Bechem United, Karela United, Great Olympics and Accra Hearts of Oak.

The dates and venue for the Top-6 tournament, will be announced later this week with the competition set to conclude at the end of this month.

The participating clubs are expected to take full advantage of the competition to put finishing touches to their preparations for next season.
