It’s Our Aim to Win The League This Season - Derick Boateng

Aduana Stars central defender, Derick Boateng Afesen has hailed their defensive set in a side that looks rejuvenated.

The rock solid defender has attributed good communication to their defensive solidity. Aduana Stars have not conceded a goal in their last three games of the 2021/22 league season; that has lead up to a 14 points’ haul in seven matches played so far in the league. The last time the “Ogya” Boys conceded a goal was in their week four humiliation of premier league returnees, Real Tamale United at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park. The rescheduled fixture ended 5-1 in Aduana’s favour at home.

Three games have been cleared and they have not let in any any goal - beating Legon Cities 1-0 in Accra, a 3-0 thumping of WAFA in week six at home and confirming Great Olympics to a 1-0 loss at the same venue in week seven of the season. Derick Afesen Boateng has attributed their defensive strength to good communication. The 22-year-old spoke after their 1-0 win over Great Olympics in week six.

“It’s all about communication. We were talking to each other on the field of play, that’s all. “Our determination this season is to top the table. “So if you look at our play on the field, you would realize that we are ahead. “So we are looking to winning the league.” Derick Boateng Afesen said. Their next game will be against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium in week eight on Wednesday, December 5.
