King Faisal to Halt Asante Kotoko’s Unbeaten Run?

King Faisal will look to extend their unbeaten run at the Baba Yara Stadium and as well build more points on Sunday.

The “Insha Allah” Boys will play as guests of city rivals, Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium in a local derby. They are both meeting for the first time in almost two years at the Baba Yara Stadium due to the renovation works by the government of Ghana. King Faisal have played two home games and won all of them against West Africa Football Academy and AshantiGold and later drew goalless draw against Medeama SC at the same venue. Their hosts, Asante Kotoko have won two home games against Bechem United and Eleven Wonders.

King Faisal beat West Africa Football Academt 1-0 and AshantiGold by 2-0 score line before drawing goalless with Medeama. Asante Kotoko however recorded a 2-0 win over Bechem United before producing the same score line against Eleven Wonders. They have won two other away games and recorded one draw against Karela United in week five. King Faisal have picked an away win against Aduana Stars and a 1-0 defeat at the Golden City Park against Berekum Chelsea in week five. King Faisal have 10 points lying in second with Asante Kotoko at the top of the league table with 13 points from five matches.

King Faisal will share the same points with Kotoko if they win on Sunday. King Faisal coach, Nurudeen Ahmed has transformed King Faisal greatly after they struggled last season. They survived relegation last season at the end of the last games after holding Liberty Professionals to a 1-1 draw at the Sogakope Park. King Faisal will look to halt Asante Kotoko’s unbeaten run this season. Both clubs have not lost at the Baba Yara Stadium this season but King Faisal have lost a game away to Berekum Chelsea.
