The President of the Cameroon Football Federation was in Ghana over the weekend for football discussions with other astute persons in Ghana football.
The former Barcelona, Chelsea and Inter Milan star granted an interview and spoke about the rise of Cameroonian star, Franck Mbella Etouga’s development. The player who was signed by Kumasi Asante Kotoko before the start of last season produced an impressive performance over the season that saw the Kumasi based club lift the Ghana Premier League title.
Subsequently, he was called up to the national team provisional squad ahead of their world cup qualifiers playoff match but failed to make the final squad.
Speaking on the performance of Etouga, Samuel Eto’o said he is very proud of what he is doing and that he has even had discussions with the national team director about the player. He said “Mbella had a beautiful season. Some months ago, my manager told me about him and even the national technical director spoke to me about him. We are very proud of what he’s doing in Ghana”.
Etouga was part of the Kotoko’s team training in pre-season but will miss their journey to Sudan after the club released a statement saying he and others had minor injuries that required further checks.
