Not long ago, the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt Okraku Mantey met the Southampton defender face-to-face and it was rumored that they were in talks on him switching to play for the Black Stars.
However, nothing convincing has been heard from the player with regards his consent to joining the Black Stars team.
Historically, Ghana had a player who was also named Mohammed Salisu, he was part of the first Black Stars team that played against Nigeria during the early 1950’s.
Mohammed Salisu was part of the Black Stars team that featured top-class footballers like C.K Gyamfi and Chris Briandt. According to Ghanaian football history, he happens to be one of the best wingers Ghanaian football fans have ever seen.
