The coach of the senior National Team, Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Kwabena Akonnor popularly known as CK Akonnor has been sacked by the powers that be.
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association took a decision to terminate the appointment of Black Stars Coach Charles Kwabena Akonnor and his two Assistants with immediate effect in the late hours of Monday, September 13, 2021. 
The coach who is also a former forward for the senior National Team, Black Stars of Ghana has come under serious criticism after having played two matches in the ongoing FIFA World cup qualifiers.
He has won one and lost one the previous two games of qualifiers but pundits and football lovers are not pleased with the performance of the manager. Many begun calling for his head immediately after the game with Ethiopia that was played in Cape Cost.
Football lovers say, his performance have been abysmal and that can not take the nation to the World Cup.
