Egypt giants, Al Ahly produced a great performance to finish on a high at the Fifa Club World Cup in Qatar.
Africa’s most successful club defeated South American champions, Palmeiras in their third-place match to win bronze.
The performance by Al Ahly in Qatar was Africa's best at the world tournament.
Since 2013, Morocco's Raja Casablanca finished second with DR Congo's TP Mazembe producing same feat in 2010 in the finals.
Ahly manager, Pitso Mosimane talked about how they won bronze.
““We opened a little bit in this match because we analyzed our opponent and we felt that we can go with them toe-to-toe, pound-for-pound.
“But not restlessly, we needed to be careful and not concede a goal and come from behind, we didn’t want to come from behind.
“We got a good balance but we were much better offensively.
“But people will say against Bayern we were not offensive, of course you are playing against Bayern that beat Barcelona 8-2, that beat Chelsea 6-0, excuse me.
“So tonight we had a chance to push on a little bit and create chances so we did create the chances.
“We moved into slowly guys, it’s important to win a game and not to be emotional.
“We are coaches and we cannot listen to people.” Pitso Mosimane said.
