Hearts of Oak Hold Asante Kotoko at The Baba Yara Stadium

Yusif Mubarik scored on the 58th minute to give Asante Kotoko 1-0 opener against arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Konadu Yiadom was on hand to find the equalizer for the Phobians at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday in the third week of the BetwPawa Ghana Premier League.

Both clubs were coming into the game from horrible performance from previous games.

Hearts of Oak had picked just one point from their two opening games in the 2022/23 BetPawa Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians lost their opening game at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa in the opening game of the season.

Bright Agyei struck late in the second half on the 88th minute which ensured the Phobians lost 1-0 in Dormaa.

Asante Kotoko on the other hand had been eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Burkina Faso club, Rail Club de Kadiogo.

The first leg ended 1-0 for Kotoko in Bénin before the Porcupine Warriors lost by the same score line at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Fabulous lads failed to make the best during the penalty shootouts where they lost 3-1 during the shootouts.

Kotoko wasted three of their kicks and scored just one of their kicks and Rail Club de Kadiogo wasted two of their kicks and scored three of their kicks to win the game.
