Several fans of former Ghanaian International, Yaw Annor have been trying to find the main reason that made Yaw Annor to switch his nationality from Ghanaian to Togolese. Yaw Annor is now a Togolese international and he was invited to play for the Togolese national team in this month's international friendly matches.
Yaw Annor revealed that, the decision to play for the Togolese national team was a family decision. This implies that, a decision made by his family allowed him to play for them. He added that, it was the correct decision he made because he will be able to get more playing time with the Togolese national team.

On Sikka FM, Yaw Annor said, "It was a family decision that led me to play for the Togo national team. I’m half Togolese, half Ghanaian."I made the correct decision because I'm likely to get enough playing time with Togo."
He also talked about the 22 goals he scored in last season's Ghana Premier League. He revealed that, the prize for being the top scorer in the league has not been given to him and he is yet to receive it.
He said, "I'm yet to receive any prize for winning last season's Goal King."
Yaw Annor is currently an Ismaily player. He was signed by the Egyptian club during the summer transfers.
