Klopp proved right for Tuchel
Ahead of Chelsea's trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in tomorrow night's big Premier League game,Reds boss Jurgen Klopp proved he is right about one of the key traits that Thomas Tuchel will bring to Stamford Bridge.
Since Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard in January in a warm spot at Chelsea,he has led nine games and kept a clean streak in seven. So far,Southampton's Takumi Minamino is the only opponent who has scored with Edouard Mendy or Kepa Arizabalaga. Another goal the Blues scored was an own goal which was unfortunate for Antonio Rüdiger.
Chelsea are tough in defense and rarely look worried. However, this should not come as a surprise to Klopp, as he lyrically revealed Tuchel's ability to organize the team in 2019.
Fantastic, fantastic manager. You really see the impact,he has changed a lot in their style of play, the way they play, different formations and things like that,Klopp was quoted as saying in Get French Football News in 2019.
I know a lot of people who have worked with him, they all respect him a lot.You can't be in the Champions League to spend money, can you.
You have to be well organized on the pitch because everyone is not blind. We do our job too, and you need to have the right tools at the right time, and Thomas has them.
Sky Sports scholar Paul Merson believes Chelsea will need to show more attacking intent and quality in the final third if he is to try to sign Erling Haaland this summer.
The Blues held on against Tuchel's arrival, but lacked firepower in front of goal and they only scored three times as much as a goal in a single game. But to change that, the Blues want to close down summer training for the Netherlands. But if they have to do that, Merson believes they will have to change their ways.
He [Haaland] will see how Chelsea play and that they only scored eight goals in seven games,Merson told Sky Sports. You can only score goals if there are opportunities and Chelsea are not burdening yet.Chelsea have to show more than what they have shown."
The duo asked Abraham
Premier League duo Southampton and West Ham United have contacted Chelsea regarding the prospect of signing Tammy Abraham this summer, according to a Eurosport report.Their interest in Aston Villa and Bristol City loans has been reported to have been fairly quiet so far,but both may be looking for a striker this summer.
The Saints are almost certain they will look for a new striker if Danny Ings is sold while the Hammers are still looking for a replacement for Sebastian Haller, who joined Ajax in January.
However, both clubs could face potential problems when it comes to reaching an agreement for the striker because of his salary requirements.
According to the report,Abraham is currently spending £80,000 a week at Stamford Bridge but wants a £40,000 raise, meaning any club's aspirations to sign him can be broken quickly.
