Kumase Asante Kotoko faces an even tougher opposition in ES Setif in the CAF confederations cup.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been drawn against Algerian side ES Setif in the CAF confederations cup. This is coming from the back of being dropped from the CAF champions league after their match against Al Hillal was called off.
CAF gave Al Hillal the advantage over Kotoko. The team has arrived in Ghana. However when you compare Al Hillal to ES Setif, Kotoko would have been better off with the former than the latter. The Algerian side are also two time winners of the CAF champions league just like Kumase Asante Kotoko. Their last title came about six years ago against AS Vita club of DR Congo.
Kotoko's level has dropped over a decade ago in the CAF organised competitions. They are not at their best at the moment even in the local league. It will take a miracle for the Ghanaian based club take it into the next stage of the competition.
Football however has its own way of pulling surprises and Kotoko fans will love one against their opponents.
