“The New Players Who Were Fixed Were Fantastic” - Ghana Defender

Hearts of Oak managed 1-0 win over premier league new boys, Bibiani Gold Stars in Accra to keep their top four finish alive.

The Phobians paraded a depleted side in the match day 19 fixture having had 19 players falling sick during the week. That notwithstanding, they claimed all three points to stay in the top four and captain of the side, Mohammed Alhassan who was adjudged the MVP of the game, was just happy with the performance of his teammates.

“No matter what, we had to play the match. “Before the match we sat down and talked to ourselves although there is crisis at the camp but we motivated ourselves that coming into this match we needed to take the three maximum points. “And God being wonderful, he he gave us the three maximum points,” Mohammed Alhassan told StarTimes.

“Before coming into the match, coach sat them down, told them what they are supposed to do on the field. “And looking at the way they played, they did everything coach told them to do so they were fantastic.” Mohammed Alhassan added. Hearts of Oak share the third spot with Medeama on 47 points apiece after 29 games in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
