5 players miss out as Asante Kotoko travel with 22-man squad for Champions League game with Kadiogo

Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo has named a 22-man squad for their African Champions League game with Rail Club de Kadiogo of Burkina Faso on Monday.

The former Burkina Faso national team coach, has left out five players for the trip to Benin to face the Burkinabe champions in a first leg preliminary round encounter.

Missing the trip to Benin are striker Frank Mbella, midfielder Eric Zeze, forward Stephen Amankona, defender Augustine Agyapong and newly signed player Rocky Dwamena. 

The travelling squad departed Accra by road to Benin on Thursday morning and, they are expected to arrive in Cotonou later in the day to face RC Kadiogo.

The game will be played on Monday at the General Mathieu Kerekou Stadium where Asante Kotoko will look for a good result to take into the return fixture in Ghana next weekend.

That encounter will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, September 18, 2022 with the winner of this two-legged affair moving on to the next stage of the competition.
