The South African National Football team, Bafana Bafana were defeated by the Black Stars of Ghana to prevent them from qualifying to the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The game that was much sort after by Ghanaians, South African fans and other African countries's fans ended in a 1:0 score in favor of the Black Stars of Ghana. But at the end of the match, the South African Football Association embarked on a press conference saying that the Black Stars did not win fairly, there was corruption and the referee officiated in favor of the host, Black Stars of Ghana.
Even though the Ghana Football Association had also reacted to their claims and even told them that they had the worst team and there is no way they would have won that match.
And right after that match, Mamelodi Sundowns a women club team based in South Africa qualified to the finals to meet a Ghanaian women football club Hasaacas Ladies in the CAF Women Champions League in Egypt.
The final game between both teams occurred on the 19th of November, 2021. The South African women's club Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Hasaacas Ladies in a 2:0 score to help avenge the male National football team that lost the chance to qualify to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The became the first female club team to win the first CAF Women Champions League.
