“Some African players need to retire and start coaching” - Samuel Eto

Samuel Eto'o Fils (French pronunciation: [samɥɛl eto fis]; born 10 March 1981) is a Cameroonian retired professional footballer who played as a striker. In his prime, Eto'o was regarded by pundits as one of the best strikers in the world, and he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, winning the African Player of the Year a record four times: in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2010.

According to this legend, some African players need to retire from football and engage in coaching. Samuel Eto affirmed that, many great players are successful ever since they retired and started coaching. He made the following references;

Lots of players have created records in football history and their achievements cannot be forgotten. Looking at all the retired players, we would realize that some of them are part of the best players football has ever had.

Talking about retired players, some of them were great players when they were playing for their respective clubs, and after retiring, some of them became managers of different clubs. Of course, not all retired players eventually become a manager/coach; however, due to their achievements and abilities, many of them are employed as club managers.

Thus, from all the managers we have across different football leagues today, we would realize that many of them were great players when they were still players. This would mean that they achieved lots of things when they were still active as players, and they had amazing career records as players, and after becoming managers, they remained successful.

One of these managers is Pep Guardiola. We all know that Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world today, and he has achieved lots of things. Currently, he won the Premier League title for Manchester City, which would be the first time the club will be winning it in a while.
