“I Will Play For Ghana”– Salisu.

News coming from the camp of Mohammed Salisu, the kingpin in the defense of England Premiership side Southampton, seems to suggest that the defender has finally decided to play for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.

Uncle of the footballer, Yakubu Ahmed, told Kumasi-based radio station, Sikka Fm that the defender has given the assurance that he would play for the country. According to him, it could be as early as the World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria in March.

It would be recalled that, Salisu Mohammed has dragging his feet after several attempts by the Ghana Football Association to get him drafted into the national team. There were many speculations which came out, with many attributing it to a bribe request he faced when he was set to join the National U-17 team.

There has also been the concern about alleged ‘juju’ or black magic practiced in the camp of the Black Stars.

If what the uncle of the footballer is saying is anything to go by, then Ghanaians have some good news to rejoice over since the national team needs serious restructuring after a poor showing at the ongoing AFCON.
