Brighton Coach Counsels Tariq Lamptey On His Nationality Switch Decision.

Brighton and Hove Albion coach, Graham Potter has counseled Tariq Lamptey on his decision to play for the Black Stars of Ghana. As you know Tariq Lamptey has played for the England National youth team at several levels with his last game being in the Under 21.

These were the words of Brighton coach, Graham Potter, "Regardless of Tariq's situation, playing in the World Cup is going to be fantastic for any player. That's something for him to consider but it is more about where he feels in his heart he should play. That is up to Tariq, I will support whatever decision he makes"

Potter added "Obviously I have never had to think about that decision. I'd like to think it's more about how he feels in terms of who he wants to represent. There will be a family consideration I don't think you take that decision necessarily from a career perspective. It's about what he feels is right for him as a footballer and as a human being. That's complex."

The Coach of Brighton then concluded with "We are definitely here for him if he wants to speak about anything or ask any questions. It won't be us steering him either way. Its a case of listening to him, what he thinks, and to make sure he knows he got our support."
