Hearts of Oak Forward Scores as Ghana Beat Nigeria in Africa Qualifiers

Hearts of Oak forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was on the score sheet as Ghana’s home based Black Stars defeated Nigeria 2-0.

Barnieh scored from the penalty spot on the 49th minute to give the Black Galaxies the lead at the Caoe Coast Stadium on Sunday.

It was a very great performance from the local Black Stars who actually struggled in the first half where top man, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was cut out.

Captain of the side, Gladson Awako was also cut out during the first half and was finally substituted in the second half for Umar Bashiru.

Umar Bashiru started the attack that Elsa’s another Hearts of Oak forward, Seidu Suraj find the net on the 86th minute.

The home based Black Stars have a 2-0 advantage going into the second leg at the MKO Moshood Abiola national Stadium a week after the first leg at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Ghana eliminated fellow West Africans, Bénin over two legs to qualify for the last round of the Championship for Africa Nations Qualifiers.
