Brighton and Hove Albion defender, Tariq Lamptey has requested to be avoided with regards to the England U-21 squad after being drawn closer by Ghana to switch allegiance.
The 21-year-old was to be in the Young Lions' selection for their impending four Euro qualifiers against the Czech Republic, Albania, Kosovo, and Slovenia.
In any case, Lamptey told England U-21 coach, Lee Carsley to permit him space to thoroughly consider the choice to play for the Black Stars.
"There's an issue over his dual nationality. He's had a methodology. It's something he's thinking about at the moment," Carsley told The Sun.
"We've clarified how significant we see him to us. I know the seniors have too. Not something we've abandoned. Tariq is completely mindful of how significant we see him."
Carsley uncovers he has had various "great discussions" with the right-back over the circumstance and accepts it was not out of the question to permit him an opportunity to choose.
"In any case, the inverse to that is Tariq is a major player for ourselves and we see a genuine future for him inside the pathway, so I'll be returning to him."
