FIFA place 3 year transfer Ban on top Ghanaian club from Ashanti Region.

Sad news hit Ghana Football as FIFA put three year ban on Ghanaian club.

World governing body of football FIFA has today placed a 3 years transfer ban on Division 2 side Platini FC for their inability to comply with a decision made by FIFA's Player Status Committee.

Platini FC were supposed to pay€16,250 + an interest of 5% per year in January 2018 to Portuguese side Sporting Clube da Covilha . The 3 year ban will stay until the club pays the amount it owes to the Portuguese club.

FIFA has tasked the Ghana Football Association not to allow the Ashati Region club to transfer any player or buy any player in the next three years unless the fee is paid.

The Portuguese side won the law suit against the Ghanaian club after it's lawyer Jan Schweele requested for the club to be ban.

On 18th February 2020, FIFA asked Platini FC to make those payments but they did not.

FIFA statement reads “In light of the foregoing, and considering that a transfer ban has been implemented in full on the Respondent, the club Platini FC, and is currently being served in accordance with art. 24bis of the RSTP, we wish to inform the parties that the said ban shall remain up until the due amount is paid and for the maximum duration of three entire and consecutive registration periods”.

The message was successfully delivered to both the GFA and Platini FC.
