Chelsea won the UEFA champions league on Saturday by beating Manchester city 1-0 in Porto as Kai Havertz scored the winner. The Blues were worthy victors while Manchester city did next to nothing to deserve anything positive from the match as manager Pep Guardiola over thought his starting eleven and paid dearly.
It was Manchester City's first appearance in the final of Champions league but they ultimately came up short, but Guardiola was still happy with his side's works this term. Chelsea left with the pure joy of lifting club football's greatest trophy in front of their fans, Manchester city left to think about where it was lost.
That was also the story running through this 66th Champions league final, as the London club claimed their second and Thomas Tuchel his first with 1-0 win. The wait for Man city's first and Guardiola's third goes on because the manager's once again over-thought it on the biggest state of all. He once again contrived to reduce his team's chances of winning. The starting line-up was the start of everything going wrong, right down to Kevin De Bruyne's sad injury. Before then, though, Pep Guardiola's needlessly complex system was undone by Tuchel's more direct approach and one simple - but sensational Mason Mount ball.
Chelsea light up the skies over Stamford Bridge to celebrate their champions league trophy as their fans stuck back in London are treated to drone show over the stadium while the players lift the cup in Portugal.
Below are some photos of the match and the celebration.
