Something seems to have broken because Ghana's covid-19 situation isn't getting better. It is only getting worse. The daily numbers are in the same range it has been over the past several weeks. Today's update from the Ghana Health Service is also following this trend. If things continue in this manner come somewhere March Ghana will record 1,000 plus deaths and 100,000 plus cases.
Today's update reveals that 718 new cases has been recorded. This new figure pushes Ghana's total case count to 75,836. It is not only the total case count that has experienced a significant jump but the total death count and active case count as well. Ghana's total death count has increased by 15 and is now 533. Like the death count the active case count of the country has also increased from 7,754 to 8,216 representing an increase of 462.
The only good news in this update is that Ghana's total recoveries/discharges has experienced an increase. It has increased from 66,846 to 67,087 representing an increase of 241. Aside these numbers today's update also revealed that there are 101 severe cases and 33 critical cases. Below are pictures of Ghana's total case count, recoveries/discharges, deaths and regional distribution.
The covid-19 figures have changed drastically in the last two months than the 6 months of the arrival of the pandemic. The President and many others have believe that the failure of citizens to adhere to the covid-19 protocols is responsible for that. I don't know how true that is but we as citizens have responsibilities to perform just like the President and other leaders.
Wearing of mask, frequent washing of hands, eating good foods, exercising and social distancing etc. has become our responsibilities in this difficult times and we must do it well as citizens What do you think of today's update? What do you think is responsible for the recent surge in Ghana's covid-19 numbers? When do you think the numbers will begin to slow down? Share your views and opinions in the comment section below. I would love to read all of them.
