Defeat to Aduana Stars is a Big Blow to us - Michel Otou

Legon Cities FC midfielder, Michel Otou says their slim defeat to Aduana Stars at home is a blow to the playing body.

The Royals fell 1-0 to Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium in week five of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League on Friday. Aduana Stars’ got their only goal of the game from a powerful strike of talisman, Yahaya Mohammed in the 30th minute. Legon Cities dominated possession after going down but could not create enough space in the rock solid Aduana Stars defence to pull the equalizer. Michel Otou, who joined Legon Cities from Great Olympics, says, the defeat has hit the playing hard.

“I think we were able to possess the game but unfortunately we couldn’t take our chances and I will say it’s part of the game. “Sometimes you can possess the ball and you may lose the game. “So we will go back and then work and go harder next time,” Michel Otou said at the post match press conference. “I think it’s [the defeat] very bad because, you see we were able to possess the game in the second half and we were not expecting them [Aduana Stars] to win this game. So it was a very bad to the team.” Michel Otou added.

Michel Otou has been a mainstay for the Royals since joining them from city rivals, Great Olympics for this season’s league. He has played in all five games this term under coach Maxwell Konadu. Legon Cities remain on five points from a possible 12 with their only win coming against Real Tamale United [3-2] and two draws - goalless in Accra to holders, Hearts of Oak and 2-2 at Sogakope to West Africa Football Academy. They have a tough away clash to four time Ghana champions, AshantiGold in week six at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
