Two fixtures kicked to the start of the round eight stage of the 2020/2021 UEFA Championship League competition tonight. Barcelona faced PSG in Spain at the Camp Nou whereas RB. Leipzig played Liverpool at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
The toughest game of the night was the game between Barcelona and PSG. Many anticipated an easy game for Barcelona since one of their star men Neymar wouldn’t be featuring but it turned out to be otherwise. The game was really tough and balanced.
Barcelona opened the scoresheet in the 27th minute by a penalty goal scored by Messi. PSG took charge of the game as soon as that penalty went in and managed an equaliser before halftime by their regular scorer Mbappe in the 32nd minute to draw them level at halftime. While at the Puskas Arena neither RB. Leipzig nor Liverpool were able to find the back of the net at halftime.
Liverpool sparked life into their game with Leipzig at the early stages of the second half with 2 goals scored by Salah and Mane in the 53rd and 58th minute respectively. Right after which PSG increased their goal tally to 3 against Barcelona with two quick goals from Mbappe and Kean in the 65th and 70th minutes respectively. Mbappe scored an 85th minute stunner to make the score 4:1 in favour of PSG.
PSG after this big win over Barcelona at the Camp Nou looks the favourite to qualify to the next round in the second as Liverpool looks forward to finish off RB. Leipzig after a big 2 goals to nil win on the neutral grounds.
